Who has never heard of La Mer’s nutrient-rich Miracle Broth ™?! Already, at 17 years old (if not younger), I was reading and planning on how to save enough money to one day purchase the moisturizing soft cream from La Mer. I had read about beauty gurus who ate ramen noodles to save enough money to purchase that oh-so coveted miracle cream. Now that I think about it, that was a complete non-sense!
I knew all about Dr. Max Huber’s journey. I would try relentlessly to convince my mom that I needed such a cream by mentioning that he was a physicist. Appealing to her scientific eye would not really work at that time and with good reason! I was 17 and clearly not in need of a regenerating cream.
Last week… I could no longer resist. Sephora Canada had finally launched La Mer’s products online. Holt Renfrew marketing team was probably panicking about the new. Being the only seller for the past few years (except for La Mer’s website), they were now witnessing a huge competitor selling the same products for less (215$ vs 230$ not much but still substantial when you are broke!).
So, the next day, an email was blasted to all Holt Renfrew’s subscribers saying that with any La Mer’s purchase you would get 3 samples. THREE SAMPLES! For La Mer’s counter at Holt Renfrew, this was quite unprecedented. I jumped at this chance to try this so-called miracle-in-a-jar! I calmed myself down and got the lip balm (because of course it was the cheapest product). Whilst the lip balm will definitely not make my lip care top 5 of the month, one of the samples is without doubt at the top of my favorite products’ list of the whole year – The Hand Treatment. As I like to call it, La Mer’s underdog… because who would pay 110$ to try a hand cream! Ok ok, I will probably (most definitely) purchase this product when I run out of the sample. It is a deluxe sample I might add since this perfection of a product came in a 30 ml tube!
After only using this hand cream once, I noticed a huge difference! So very Canadian of me, living at the bottom of a mountain when I was a kid, I skied a lot. Since I can remember, the back of my hands has been extremely dry and patchy from light chilblains that happened during ski lessons. That hand treatment is healing my skin, something no other hand creams have achieved so far. I even asked my dad to try it since his hands are way worse than mine and he told me it was now on his Christmas wish list!
With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation?
My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like
a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement.
Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off?
I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Hey! I am sorry that this is happening to you. I have just started blogging again so I have not yet encounter that issue. On the other hand, I try to prevent it by writing the copyright logo at the bottom of my website. “All Rights Reserved” would also work.
Best of luck.
